WRAP contributed 30% of the cost of the Aggregate
Washing Plant and associated Water Treatment
Facility which cost in excess of £1.2m. Funding was
paid on completion of specific milestones across the
duration of the planning, construction and testing
phases.
The plant has been designed to produce in excess of
265,000 tonne of secondary and recycled aggregates
over the next 5 years, with the advanced techniques
in water treatment alleviating the huge space
requirement of silt lagoons which would otherwise be
required to treat the dirty water.
Although there has historically been a reluctance to
use recycled aggregates in construction, our
customers are fast realising the high quality of our
recycled products which have received
recommendations from various authorities including
Dorset Chief Building Control Officers Group. All
products are regularly tested by an independent
company to ensure that materials comply with current
specifications. |
