Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment
WEEE
Directive...
|
|
|
|
Every year
the UK throws away around 2 million tonnes of waste electrical and
electronic equipment (WEEE). This is one of the fastest growing waste
streams in the UK and the EU.
The WEEE Regulations came into force in January 2007 to tackle this
waste stream. The regulations apply to all companies who import,
manufacture or re-brand electrical equipment in the UK (producers). They
also affect anyone who uses, sells, treats or disposes of WEEE. |
 |
|
It is
illegal...
from the 1st
July 2007 to place in your wheelie bin/skip or tip any waste electrical
and electronic equipment from businesses, shops, offices, restaurants,
garages, commercial and industrial premises etc.
The Solution...
Commercial Recycling Ltd are fully licenced and authorised by the
Environment Agency to receive and collect these waste items ready for
further processing in accordance with the WEEE Directive. |
