The Benefits of Recycled Aggregates

What are the benefits of recycled aggregates?

Both producers and consumers are increasingly choosing to switch to materials from more sustainable sources. The use of recycled aggregates has environmental as well as economical benefits.

When customers purchase our recycled aggregates, although they may not realise it, they are helping the environment by conserving quarried (primary) aggregates for future generations and also preventing a useful material from unnecessary disposal in facilities that include landfill.

Although the aggregates have to be processed through advanced screening facilities and state of the art washing plants, overall costs are decreased due to the elimination of the quarrying process and reduced transportation.

AMS in association with Commercial Recycling have made significant investments and are now able to operate a state-of-the-art inert facility with the equipment required to manufacture superior recycled aggregates. Recycled aggregates in use

Avon Material Supplies have provided over 12,000 tonnes of recycled aggregates to be used in the construction of a new pipeline to carry water from a Dorset treatment plant into Wiltshire. This local section of pipeline being built is an integral part of an 8 year project being undertaken by Wessex Water. This large and complex project aims to create a water supply grid that will allow water to be moved from areas of surplus, such as Dorset, to where it is less abundant. When completed, the grid will be able to meet water demands for the next 25 years.
