Concrete skip hire, here is what you need to know

Bournemouth skip hire from AMS (1)

Everything you need to know about concrete skip hire

Concrete skip hire is a popular option for homeowners who are making large-scale structural changes to their home, or by businesses and tradespeople that take on building projects.

Outlined below are some frequently asked questions regarding concrete skip hire and placing waste concrete in skips.

What size skips do you offer for concrete waste?

Concrete is a heavy inert waste, therefore, due to lifting restrictions our concrete skip hire service is only available using 6-yard ‘builders’ skips.

Depending on the volume of waste concrete you need collecting, a single 6 yard skip may be ideal because it can hold the equivalent of 60 black bin bags.

For larger clearances, you can easily hire multiple skips. Or alternatively if required, AMS can provide roro (roll on roll off) containers or collections using grab lorries and tipper trucks.

For further advice contact our expert sales team on 01202 579579 opt. 2, who will be happy to provide advice over the phone or pop out for a free site visit.

What if I also need to dispose of other waste types?

We do offer the option of mixed waste skips, but please remember that you will save money by segregating your waste and disposing of each type separately.

If you don’t have enough concrete or rubble to fill up a whole skip, you could consider our skip bag service. This simple low-cost solution will allow you to dispose of up to 1 tonne of waste in each bag, which is collected using one our grab lorries. For more information on our skip bag services, please visit our sister website, easy-bag.co.uk.

What happens to my concrete once I’ve ‘skipped’ it?

Once collected, your concrete skip will be tipped off at Canford Inert Facility where 100% of the waste concrete will be recycled. This is thanks to our relationship with Commercial Recycling and the market-leading crushing, screening and washing plant machinery they use to create recycled aggregates.

In most cases, concrete waste will be crushed down and reused within the base layers of various local building and landscaping projects… so you know you’re doing your part for the environment!

How much will concrete skip hire cost?

Costs can vary depending on if you are planning to just dispose of concrete, or if you are using a mixed waste skip.

If you are just looking for rubble or concrete skip hire, then the cost is likely to be around 50% less than the cost of hiring a mixed waste skip. For our best rates please call our sales team on 01202 579579 opt. 2.

Please note, hire costs will differ depending on your location, so please have your postcode to hand when enquiring about prices.

Did you know our skip hire prices include a 2 week hire period? This way you can take your time filling the skip during your home renovations or building project.
