AMS provides event waste Management at Teddy Rocks

As a leading provider of waste management solutions in the south, AMS Environmental Services is well known for assisting individuals, tradesman and businesses with all their skip, skip bag and roro (rollonoff) container needs.

On top of AMS’ usual workload, they often help to manage the waste at a number of Dorset events, which in the past has included The Bestival Festival. During 2018, in addition to providing event waste management at a number of smaller events, AMS are pleased to be one of the official waste and recycling partners for Teddy Rocks Festival in Blandford, Dorset.

Teddy Rocks Festival

The festival, which is taking place in May 2018, is a leading rock festival held to raise funds for local children’s cancer charity, Teddy20.

The charity was founded by Tom Newton and his family after he lost his 10 year old brother Ted to a very rare bone cancer. Newton’s friends then organised a gig to raise money for the charity and since 2011 the music event has grown in size and popularity year on year resulting it becoming a rewarding fundraiser!

In 2017 the festival was moved to a larger site which facilitated car parking, camping and 4 epic stages and successfully raised £76,000! The event will be returning to Charisworth Farm in 2018 and AMS will be there to assist with the event’s waste management.

AMS Event Waste Management

As an official waste and recycling partner at Teddy Rocks, AMS are providing roro (rollonoff) containers which will be used to help manage the waste being placed in wheelie bins located at the festival. This approach, coupled with a team of volunteer litter pickers, should ensure the site is kept clean and all waste is safely stored prior to being transported and disposed of at a local recycling centre.

“It’s great to be a part of such a special event; I myself love live music and it makes it even better knowing all the proceeds are going to Teddy20” Quote from AMS Sales Manager, Stuart Mariner.

Not sure what a roro is?

Roros, often known as rollonoff containers are large metal skip containers that commonly range is size from 15 -50 yards. Due to their size, they are ideal for storing and transporting large volumes of lightweight bulky waste, such as cardboard and packaging materials.  Learn more about our RoRo lorries >>
