Local aggregates supplier, Avon Material Supplies (AMS) donates to Wave 105 Mission Christmas Appeal
With Christmas approaching and figures showing that 1 in 3 children in our area are living in poverty, Wave 105 has launched their Mission Christmas appeal. This year, the target is 64,000 toys!
To help disadvantaged local children in the Wave region to have a memorable Christmas morning the popular radio station has set up donation points across their region for local people and businesses to give gifts. These gifts are sorted into age groups, wrapped and distributed to disadvantaged children in the Hampshire and Dorset areas. All this work is carried out by volunteers.
AMS are one of the leading suppliers of recycled and primary aggregates across Dorset and Hampshire and as a keen supporter of local charities, has kindly donated £200 worth of toys to the Mission Christmas appeal.
Niall Roberts from AMS, and his wife Helen went and purchased the toys which they delivered to the Wave 105 studios. Welcomed by DJ Andy Jackson, the toys were gratefully received and will no doubt put smiles on a number of children’s faces this Christmas.
Naill Roberts from AMS said
“As a local business, AMS are always keen to do what they can for the community. The Mission Christmas appeal is such a fantastic, cause and we are aware that not all children get a gift at this special time. We had great fun choosing the toys and are sure they will bring joy to the children who receive them. It is especially pleasing to think you will be putting a smile on the face of child you do not know ”
